For my most recent project I had to develop and design an album cover and merch design for a fictional musical artist that I imagined myself.

The artist I developed is Chloe Dolce or professionally known as DAWN, is a 25 year old Australian-born singer songwriter who moved to Los Angeles to pursue her music career professionally. Since the age of 4 she has always had a strong passion for music and what it can do for people who are struggling. When she was 19 she was approached by a major record label in Los Angeles, called Republic Records after they saw her covers on YouTube.

 

Her music style is focused heavily on RnB and slow ballads. She focuses her music on her own personal life experiences. Her first 3 albums are a trilogy of albums called NOSTALGIA, PERSEVERENCE and STRENGTH. All three albums are about her own life experiences with NOSTALGIA being about her childhood/teenage years. The 3 albums will form her debut studio album titled FEELS.

The album cover design is a representation of how her younger self felt and visualises a chaotic design to represent her chaotic life and experiences. I wanted to create a layered design to showcase her layered emotions and feelings as well as representing 3 stages of her life that form the FEELS album meaning.
